WordStats

WordStats extracts a variety of statistics from documents in plain text format. Besides word count, unique word count and word frequency, these statistics include number count and hyperlink count; sentence and paragraph count; and average and maximum characters per word, syllables per word, words per sentence, and sentences per paragraph. The app also calculates various readability scores.

WordStats is multi-lingual; word count and frequency can be established for two different, user-selected languages in a single analysis. Various results can be saved to CSV files for further analysis with external tools.

WordStats is open source freeware, shared under the GPL/LGPL/MPL/MIT quadlicense. It uses Hunspell, NHunspell and associated language dictionaries. It moreover uses PragmaticSentencerNet for sentence segmentation, and Ude.NetStandard for character set recognition. The user manual has details, including license information.
