Sunny Side Up Software takes security very seriously. All apps and installers are scanned for threats by Microsoft Defender before being uploaded to this site; and the site itself is monitored for malicious access in various ways.

As an additional security measure, all installers were checked by Jotti’s Malware Scan, "a free [online] service that lets you scan suspicious files with several antivirus programs". The scan results are available below. If you want to make 100% sure an installer you downloaded is safe prior to using it, you can run it through Jotti’s scanner (or a similar one) yourself. Besides virus scan results, this provides MD5 and SHA1 hash codes that function as code signatures. Comparing these codes with the ones in the corresponding screenshot below allows verifying that the installer you downloaded is identical to the one we uploaded and hasn't been tampered with.

False positives

It is important to note that any virus check can result in a false positive (detection of a virus that isn’t there) or a false negative (missing a virus that is there). Because antivirus programs from different companies each use their own checking algorithm with its own particular false positive/negative behavior, tools like Jotti that scan files with multiple checkers provide added value. If only one checker reports a problem and the other ones don’t, this is likely to be a false positive and the file is likely to be trustworthy. Likewise, if most checkers report a problem but one or a few don’t, the latter are likely to be false negatives and it is best to assume that the file is infected with a virus.
As per the screenshots below, one of Jotti’s scanners (Ikarus) reports that several apps on this site (Game Of Life, Process Logger, SensorTest and SimpleTrack) are infected by a virus; F-Secure also marks Photo Selector as infected. Because most checkers, including this from big players such as Avast, Trend Micro and Kaperski, mark them as safe, as do local checks with Microsoft Defender, we assess these reports as false positives; otherwise the apps would not be offered here.
