About Sunny Side Up Software

Sunny Side Up Software is a name that may require some explanation.

From 2018 to 2026, this site hosted freeware Windows 10 and 11 applications that I created as a hobby. My interests shifted over time, and although I still maintain a few of the applications for personal use, I no longer offer them online, with one exception. Word Stats was turned into a web application and remains accessible from this site’s home page.

But back to the name. When I was looking for a name for the site in 2018, it somehow immediately occurred to me that I like my eggs sunny side up. And I was publishing software, so, voilà: Sunny Side Up Software.

Today, the site serves as a simple gateway to three related sites, each using a subdomain of sunnysideupsoftware.com:

• GPS Relativity shows live GPS and GLONASS satellites and calculates how special and general relativity affect the selected satellite’s clock.
• Quantum @ Home uses small detectors in an ordinary home to make quantum effects visible through live data and short experiments.
• Word Stats analyzes plain-text documents in one or two languages, reports detailed counts and unique-word frequencies, and provides downloadable results.
